Terms of Service

Last updated: June 11, 2026

1. Service Description

CV Tailor is an open-source, local-first web application for running your job search end to end with AI-powered agents. It helps you tailor your CV to specific job descriptions and export an ATS-friendly PDF, run a deep offer evaluation with a weighted verdict, build a STAR story bank for interviews, track your applications with follow-up cadence, and draft per-job negotiation scripts. The service is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Your Data and Intellectual Property

Your data belongs to you. All content you create using CV Tailor — including facts, CV drafts, evaluation reports, STAR stories, tracked applications, and compiled PDFs — remains your intellectual property. We do not claim any ownership or license over your content. By default this content lives in your browser. If you create an account and sign in, certain records — your saved evaluation reports, STAR story bank, and tracked applications — are stored on our server so they are available across your sessions, as described in the Privacy Policy; your raw facts, CV drafts, and PDFs stay in your browser.

3. Third-Party Services

CV Tailor sends data to OpenRouter for AI processing when you run the pipeline. By using this feature, you agree to comply with OpenRouter's terms of service. You are responsible for providing your own API key and for any costs incurred through OpenRouter.

The Job Discovery feature retrieves job postings from public, documented job-board APIs (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever). Requests are rate-limited, cached, and identified with a descriptive User-Agent; we do not scrape HTML pages. Job posting content belongs to the respective companies and job boards and is provided to you for personal job-search use only — you agree not to redistribute or republish it.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

5. No Warranty

CV Tailor is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before using it in job applications.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers of CV Tailor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the service.

7. Open Source

CV Tailor is open-source software. The source code is available on GitHub and is subject to its respective license terms.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction.
